Jan 20 & 21, 2015-A Technology Study Trip to Motorola & Dell in Penang was organized for 23 CIOs and senior IT Managers of end-user members. The objectives of the trip were to enable delegates to learn how Motorola and Dell strategized their IT innovations and project management. In addition, to seek information on their best practices for IT related procedures and processes.
Motorola Solutions Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. hosted the delegates at their brand new one-stop integrated design centre at INNOPLEX, Bayan Lepas and shared information regarding their enterprise manufacturing and system support.
Dell hosted the delegates at their Dell APCC2 Factory at Bukit Mertajam and Dell SWTC (Global Command Centre, Regional Call Centre – Sales & Technical Support, Finance & Accounting, HR) at Bayan Lepas with a behind the scene view of their operations. Impressive manufacturing procedures and processes were deployed and IT support of the operations was closely aligned to their business goals.
In summary, it was an interesting and productive trip with all delegates enjoyed the networking and sumptuous meals, including a durian party.
